How Alternative Healing Supports Mental & Physical Wellness
I still remember the days when my yoga mat was just another item in my apartment, a small escape from my busy corporate life. I would rush from meeting to meeting, my breath shallow, my mind constantly spinning, and my body tense from sitting and striving all day.
At first, yoga was just physical exercise, a way to stretch, release tension, and “do something good” for myself. But over time, something deeper began to unfold. I noticed that the calm I felt after class wasn’t just from movement, it came from moments of silence, awareness, and connection. That’s when I realized yoga wasn’t about touching my toes. It was about learning how to touch my own truth.
The Power of Awareness
Around the same time, I began therapy. Through that process, I discovered how beliefs shape our lives, silently directing the way we think, feel, and act. Some of those beliefs weren’t even mine. They were inherited, learned, or built out of fear and expectation. When I understood this, I knew I had to change the way I related to myself. That’s when Theta Healing came into my life. It opened a door into the subconscious, helping me see that transformation isn’t about “fixing” who we are, it’s about returning to who we’ve always been, underneath all the layers.
The Missing Piece
Later, I started noticing how my breath would change every time I was stressed or anxious. It felt like a mirror, reflecting exactly how I was feeling inside. And that’s when Breathwork became the missing link. Through conscious breathing, I learned to connect the dots between body, mind, and emotion, to regulate my nervous system, release tension, and find calm even in chaos.
Today: Living the Gold Triangle
Looking back now, I see my journey as a long exploration of different approaches, all leading to the same truth: balance.
For me, it’s like a golden triangle between body, mind, and soul, constantly shifting, sometimes in harmony, sometimes off balance. Some days I manage to keep that triangle perfectly aligned. Other days, not so much.
But now I know how to spot the root of my imbalance when it appears, accept it with softness, and give myself the time I need to realign. And that, to me, is healing, not perfection, but awareness.
